Ballet Instructor

Training and experience as a professional Ballerina, Miss Carla is also an experienced and highly skilled enthusiastic RAD registered and Certified Ballet Teacher.

Her Classical training started at age 7 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at the Maria Olenewa State School of Dance - Brazil's most notable Ballet Company School (Vaganova style), at which time she also formed part of El Paso Youth Dance Company.

After graduating with a Corps-de-Ballet and Teaching Diploma, Miss Carla joined the main company for several seasons, dancing famous Ballets such as Swan Lake, Eugene Onegin, La Bayadere, and a National Tour of The Nutcracker, which included the participation as dancer in Operas, National Soap Operas, and Brazil's professional Carnival Parades. Miss Carla made the move to the United Kingdom whereby she attained her Certification and Registered Teacher Status with the Royal Academy of Dance.

Miss Carla’s professional training has given her in-depth knowledge of Ballet Technique up to a professional level, whilst her teacher-training has provided a clear and thorough understanding in the responsibility of safe dance practices, including knowledge in child developmental stages and effective teaching strategies in managing classes, sustaining students’ engagement whilst also effectively and safely helping students reach their fullest potential; all ensuring an emphasis on fun!

During Miss Carla’s time with us we have seen a tremendous improvement in the overall technique of our students, the application of these skillsets throughout their dance training regardless of genre has been most beneficial - we are humbled to have Miss Carla form part of DFU faculty as Ballet instructor.

Carla is also certified in Progressing Ballet Technique and is CPR trained.
